Abstract:
Breast pump flange fitting and pump selection are critical components of lactation support, yet guidance on breast pump flange fitting and pumping practices often varies widely among professionals and can feel subjective. This presentation aims to cut through that variability by synthesizing the latest research on flange sizing and pump technology into a clear, practical framework. Drawing from randomized trials, observational studies, and systematic reviews, we will explore what the evidence collectively reveals about optimizing milk expression, maternal comfort, and user experience. This session will highlight overarching themes, contextual factors, and actionable strategies that emerge when the literature is considered as a whole. By integrating these insights, attendees will leave equipped to translate research into individualized recommendations, moving beyond “one-size-fits-all” toward evidence-informed care that supports both efficiency and maternal well-being.
